Ease of operation and a powerful 16.1-megapixel image sensor are combined to ensure that you get great high-resolution images and enjoy taking them.

EASY-HOLD GRIP & EASY-TO-OPERATE BUTTON LAYOUT

A comfortable grip makes your camera stable for clearer shots, while the clean and functional button layout makes operation exceptionally simple.

NIKKOR 5X OPTICAL ZOOM LENS

The wide angle of the NIKKOR 5x optical zoom lens (26-130mm equivalent in 35mm format) has the flexibility to shoot wide-angle group shots with your friends and also allow you to zoom in on faraway subjects without worrying about taking blurred images.

APPROX. 230K-DOT 6.7-CM/2.7-IN TFT LCD MONITOR

The large and bright LCD monitor makes framing easy when shooting movies and images, and gives a clear view for reviewing in playback.

SCENE AUTO SELECTOR

Shoot the easy way with Scene auto selector automatically choosing the most appropriate scene mode – like Landscape, Night portrait or Close-up – for your shooting situation. Your camera has 15 scene modes that can be matched to the conditions you’re shooting in. Each mode optimises camera settings to achieve the best exposure for specific conditions, so you’ll always capture great shots even in difficult circumstances.

HD MOVIE RECORDING (720p)

Capture all the fun with friends and family in smooth HD movies, switching easily from taking photos with the dedicated movie-record button.

MOTION BLUR REDUCTION

Shooting moving subjects like children or pets? Motion blur reduction gives you sharper shots by compensating for camera shake and subject movement.

SPECIAL EFFECTS
You can enhance your images with a variety of creative effects before you shoot, like Mirror effect showing your subject and their mirror image in a single shot, Selective colour for a bright pop of colour on a black and white image, or High-contrast monochrome giving a moody feel to your photos. Be more imaginative with your photographic expression.

QUICK EFFECTS
Want to change the look of a shot you’ve taken? Quick effects like Fisheye, Miniature effect, Toy camera effect and Cross process can be added in-camera to give a unique style to your images.

SMART PORTRAIT MODE
The automatic processes of the Smart portrait system make flattering portraits easy to achieve. Smile timer takes a shot when it recognises that your subject is smiling, Blink proof displays a warning message if it detects that your subject blinked as you took your photo, so you can re-take it immediately without having to wait to check your shot. Skin softening effect comes with improved facial detection and enhanced skin tone exposure control, so your portrait subjects always look flawless.

Light, compact, and powered by AA batteries
At a lightweight 160 g, and compact enough to pop in a pocket or bag, your camera is also conveniently powered by AA batteries that are easily found wherever you travel in the world, so you never need to worry about missing a perfect moment.
