The Ducky One 3 mechanical gaming keyboard is designed to give you the best possible typing experience. With high-quality workmanship all around and trimmed for short response times, the Ducky One 3 offers gamers and keyboard enthusiasts a luxurious typing experience. In addition, the switches are not soldered, but mounted on bases. This means they can be replaced easily and without soldering.
The variant of the Ducky One 3 offered here is in a full-size form factor. It offers the full range of keys including number pad, position and arrow keys. This makes it equally suitable for gaming and office applications, but it also requires a lot of space on the desk.
Mechanical switches in detail: Cherry MX Silent Red
This version uses Cherry MX Silent Red switches . These have a low release pressure and no pressure point . A tactile pressure point is not absolutely necessary in action-heavy games such as first-person shooters , as the keys tend to be pressed fully in the heat of battle. The Cherry MX Silent Red switches come close to the characteristics of rubber dome keyboards. Thanks to their rubber dampers, they are significantly quieter compared to normal mechanical switches and are therefore ideal for the office, voice chat and streaming .
QUACK Mechanics
With this keyboard, the manufacturer introduces its QUACK Mechanics design philosophy. Ducky takes into account four key considerations that determine the typing experience: the keycaps, the case, the sound and the stabilizers.
That's why this version of the Ducky One 3 offers high-quality keycaps made of polycarbonate (PC). The pudding keycaps are transparent at the bottom and coated in black at the top, with the labels punched out. Ducky casts the keycaps from two layers of plastic. The double-shot process ensures longer durability.
Flat housing and gentle sound
A common criticism of mechanical keyboards is their clunkiness. The newly developed housing of the Ducky One 3 is flatter than that of its predecessors and, in combination with the three-stage feet, relieves the strain on the wrist.
To improve the sound and typing experience, Ducky tested a total of 17 different rubber composites and selected the most suitable variant for the Q-Bounce pad. This is combined with an additional foam layer made of EVA to effectively dampen resonances when typing and hard keystrokes.
